I’ve hear if you want the prints to be “archival” (last a long time) you need to use HP papers with this printer.

sorry just one last question. What do you mean by an archival printer?

It’s a semi-gloss, not as shiny as the full gloss. Keep in mind this is an archival printer, it uses archival inks but you need to use HP’s archival paper to complete the equation. You can use plain bond papers but the colors won’t be as nice and I doubt the prints will last very long. Check HP’s site for their papers, etc. Also, search the net as some people have had good results with other papers. Good luck!

that paper is the one that looks like shiny paper? I would use the printer for printing posters mostly so what paper do you recommend?

Excellent printer!!. Mine is 3+ years old. Only changed 2 carts — others at 50-75%, it sips ink, Epsons guzzled.
I use Q1420A paper — not archival but a poster I printed right after I got it is taped to a wall facing a east window & still looks like I just printed it.
No real print count but I’m going to guess that you can print 150-200′ of 24″ roll paper with a ink set. If you spray the prints with Krylon Crystal Clear, or PremierArt PrintShield, they’re be waterproof and laste a LONG time.

i´m planning in buying the designjet 130 and I have read every review and most of them say that its a good printer. But can you tell how much prints, in any size, can you do without changing cartriges?
